No matter how much glitz and glamour there is at Monaco, you still can’t get away from the fact that there is very little opportunity for cars to overtake, resulting in a 78 lap procession.
The excitement comes from the odd glimpse of the safety car after a car hits the barriers – thank goodness Pascal Wehrlein walked away from being flipped like burger into the barriers, but oh dear Marcus Ericsson – and a rare overtake.
However, I think because there aren’t many opportunities to overtake it makes strategy even more vital, as we unfortunately saw when Vettel jumped Kimi for the lead on an overcut – which had a lot of fans crying ‘foul’, but to be honest Vettel didn’t do anything wrong.
But, let’s get down to the real business of the day, the Funniest Tweet Awards – and once again I had so many hilarious ones to choose from I have had to do a top 10.
